Pets receive their names for various reasons; a dog with four white feet might be called Boots, or an orange cat might be known as Cheeto. Lucky, an adorable Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Mix received his name because he was … thank goodness… Lucky. You see, Lucky was abandoned and left to fend for himself. This would be hard enough in good conditions, but it was even more difficult in the harsh summer temperatures.  Thankfully, Lucky was picked up and brought to Green Hills Animal Shelter!

Lucky, who we estimate to be only 6 to 8 months old, is an affectionate pup who, despite his rough start, is absolutely overflowing with love. Lucky never meets a stranger and considers everyone he meets his very best friend. He is very playful, full of energy, and full of happiness! Lucky loves other dogs and tries to make friends with all his canine companions at the shelter.

If Lucky could describe his perfect Forever Home he would ask to be adopted by an active family who would include him in all their activities. He is eager to please and would enjoy learning commands and tricks; perhaps Frisbee or even agility training! Lucky would love to have a securely fenced yard where he could run off his puppy energy and then come inside to a soft bed of his own and lots of pets, belly rubs, and treats. He would be a great family dog for a family with children, and of course, Lucky would very much enjoy having a canine brother or sister in his Forever Home.

Lucky will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is a perfect pup looking for his perfect home.  Could that home be yours?
