Pet Of The Week – Minnie

If you are looking for a wiggly bundle of happiness who will be your best friend for life, look no further than Minnie!  Minnie is a wonderful mix of puppy breath, tail wags, and body wiggles, and she is sure to steal your heart! What makes Minnie so adorably cute? Well, Minnie’s Foster parent ordered a DNA test and the results are in:  Minnie’s cuteness is made up of 40.7% Pit Bull Terrier, 19.1% American English Coonhound, 16.2% Labrador Retriever, 11.5% Redbone Coonhound, 8.5% Akita, and 4.0% Standard Poodle. In short, Minnie and her siblings are a wonderful blend of loyalty, intelligence, sportiness, and eagerness to please!

Minnie and her siblings came to Green Hills Animal Shelter after their mom, Susie, was found wandering alone in August, very pregnant and very much in need of care. She was rescued and brought to the shelter and Minnie and her nine (yes, NINE!) siblings (Speckles, Domino, Olive, Lavender, Dottie, Patches, Oreo, Tina, and Spot) were born in a foster home on August 17, 2023. They thrived with Susie’s tender care, and now Minnie, her mom, and her happy, wiggly siblings have arrived at the shelter where they are waiting to meet their Forever Families.

Minnie is a happy pup who is friendly and affectionate. She is a super sweet and lively little girl who lives for attention and playtime! She is happy and busy, and her foster parent has lovingly nicknamed her “Minnie Mouth” because of her endearing ability to communicate and tell you when she needs something.  Minnie’s joyous, loving personality would make her a good fit in a home with children, other dogs, or even a laid-back cat friend.

Minnie is still very much a baby and hasn’t yet experienced a home of her own, but if she could describe what she thinks it might be like she would undoubtedly tell us that she would like to have a home where she could be an indoor dog and have a family who would shower her with love and involve her in all their activities. She would love to have toys and a soft bed of her own, learn to take long-leashed walks, and spend her entire life being loved. Minnie would very much enjoy having a child in her new home who she could grow up with, and she would also love sharing her home with a canine companion; perhaps even one of her siblings.

Minnie will go to her Forever Home spayed, dewormed, and up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. She will also come with her very own bag of Science Diet puppy food to get her started in her new Forever Home.
