Pet Of The Week – Warrior

All animals are special, but sometimes a pet comes along whose spirit immediately draws us in and captures our hearts, and Warrior is definitely one of those pets!

Warrior, who was given his name because of his courage and resilience, arrived at Green Hills Animal Shelter after being found wandering the streets. This poor boy was hungry and neglected and had obviously been on his own for quite some time. He was extremely thin, covered in dry, scabby skin, missing hair, and walking on painful, extremely overgrown nails. But despite his pitiful condition, Warrior’s spirit shined through! He quickly won the hearts of shelter staff and volunteers as he sweetly and happily responded to their care, clearly thankful that he was now in a safe place with people who loved him.

Today Warrior bears no resemblance to the sad pup that was rescued from the streets. His hair is almost fully grown back, he is back to a healthy weight, and he is one of the happiest pups you could ever hope to meet.  Warrior is super sweet and loves people; everyone he meets is his new best friend! We believe him to be a young husky mix about 1 to 2 years old, and he has lots of energy which he loves to run off in the shelter play yard. Warrior is also very smart and is already potty-trained – no accidents in this boy’s kennel! Warrior reminds us every day to be thankful and to live life to its fullest!

If Warrior could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask to be adopted by an active family who will spend lots of time with him and include him in all their activities. He would prefer to be an indoor dog and would love to have a soft bed of his own with access to a securely fenced yard where he can run and play. Warrior would do well in a home with children, and he would also be happy to share his home with a canine companion. (Please note that we suggest, as we do with all our pets, that Warrior and any potential canine siblings get to meet before adoption to ensure that they will be the best of friends.)

Warrior will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He has been through so much and responded with the heart of a hero; wouldn’t you love to make him part of your family? Please note: as part of our 2023 Summer Special, Warrior’s adoption fee will be half-price through August 31, 2023.
